PressBet Golf ("we", "us", "our") operates the PressBet Golf mobile application (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and optional profile information (avatar, home course, handicap index, bio).
Scoring & Round Data
We collect golf scores, round configurations, betting formats, and settlement amounts you enter during gameplay. This data is stored to provide live scoring, leaderboards, settlement calculations, and round history.
Contacts (Optional)
With your explicit permission, we access your device contacts solely to help you find friends who also use PressBet Golf. Contact data is used for matching only and is not stored on our servers.
Photos (Optional)
When you use the scorecard scanning feature, we access your camera or photo library to capture scorecard images. Images are processed for OCR (optical character recognition) to extract scores and are not stored permanently.
Push Notification Tokens
If you enable push notifications, we store your device push token to send you round invites, score updates, settlement alerts, and tournament notifications.
Payment Handles (Optional)
You may optionally store Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle handles in your profile to facilitate peer-to-peer payment after rounds. We do not process payments—these are used solely to generate deep links to third-party payment apps.
Usage & Crash Data
We collect anonymized crash reports and basic usage analytics to improve app stability and performance. This data does not identify individual users.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and maintain the App's core features (scoring, leaderboards, settlement)
- Send push notifications you've opted into (round invites, score updates, settlements)
- Help you connect with friends who use the App
- Improve app stability through crash reporting
- Process premium subscription purchases through Apple's App Store
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encrypted database storage, row-level security policies, and secure authentication. All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS.
We implement industry-standard security measures including database-level access controls, secure API authentication, and encrypted data transmission.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase — Authentication, database, and real-time subscriptions
- Apple App Store — Subscription and in-app purchase processing
- RevenueCat — Subscription management
- Expo / EAS — App distribution and push notifications
- Sentry — Crash reporting (anonymized)
- OpenAI — OCR scorecard processing (images are not retained)
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
5. Data Retention
Round and scoring data is retained as long as your account is active to provide round history and statistics. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Opt out of push notifications at any time via device settings
- Revoke contacts permission at any time via device settings
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
